Over in New Plymouth is a holiday park called Belt Road. When you go to stay in a holiday park, you expect good service, comfortable rooms, and a few activities to enjoy during your stay. Well, I can tell you that Belt Road has gone above and beyond with all three!
The service was excellent. We were greeted by a lovely young lady who explained everything we needed to know and gave us recommendations for the best pub food (after a 6 hour drive the thought of pub food was the only thing keeping Stu and myself going!). We grabbed our key and strolled about 30 seconds to our deluxe motel room. WOW! They were right to call this place deluxe. First of all I noticed that they had left a bottle of wine, a bath bomb and some delicious chocolates with a note telling me to enjoy my stay. This is honestly the best part about working with accommodations, they all leave their own personal touch which makes the experience even better!
The room was large with hotel/motel style decor, simple but luxurious. As you walk in there was a little kitchen with everything you need for your stay, through the kitchen there's an area with a huge, comfy couch, facing a flat-screen tv on a moveable stand, with a dining table and chairs underneath. Then.. there's the extremely inviting king-size bed all ready for you to jump into! Not only is the room itself amazing, but the view, oh my! The bed faces glass windows with nothing but sea views for miles. Theres a little private deck area with a beautiful outdoor stone bathtub, perfect for a relaxing soak whilst taking in the views and reading a good book! A row of gorgeous tall orange flowers sat in front of the deck area so you not only had a breathtaking ocean view, but flowers too!
We had plenty of things to do during our stay. They kindly let us use their new spa facilities which is just a short walk over from our room. The spa room had large glass windows that you could open all the way and stare out at the ocean. Whats more peaceful than that? We enjoyed several soaks in our outdoor bathtub too, in the daytime enjoying a good book and at night gazing at the stars with a bottle of wine. Find me another motel you can do that from.. go on i'll wait! It was just a short drive to all the shops, pubs and cafes, oh and on a clear day you can drive to Kent road (about 15 mins), that has views of Mount Taranaki. Unfortunately for us it was raining so the mountain wasn't visible, but I did get some cool, moody road pictures! Every cloud aye!
Overall, Belt Road was a truly wonderful experience and I will definitely be going back there. I would highly recommend this place for all the family. We had a perfect time and it was extremely luxurious from start to finish! Book now at https://www.beltroad.co.nz
